On April 21st, 2015,
Google announced that it would be making changes to its search algorithms to take into account a website’s “mobile-friendliness” as a factor when ranking. This means that those sites that were created without smartphones’ smaller screens in mind would see their ranks fall as a result.

Is My Site Mobile Friendly?
For a site to be mobile-friendly, its text has to be readable without tapping or zooming, its tap targets need to be spaced out appropriately, and the page avoids content best suited for desktop viewing or with horizontal scrolling. Basically, the site simply needs to be easily explored via a mobile device.

According to eMarketer…
The number of smartphone users worldwide will surpass 2 billion in 2016, and by 2018, over one-third of consumers worldwide will use smartphones.
